Dog Cat Bear Productions is casting for EL CUCÚ, a horror short inspired by Latin folklore and the terrifying legend used to scare children into behaving.

We are seeking talented actors for lead and supporting roles. This is a festival-driven project.

CHARLIE (Supporting/Lead) — Male, 28-38
The children’s uncle. A man who never wanted kids and isn’t handling grief or responsibility well. Short-tempered, frustrated, and emotionally guarded. Needs strong dramatic acting.
Ethnicity: Open

IRIS (Supporting/Lead) — Female, 28-38
Charlie’s wife. Latina. Warm but firm—she genuinely wants to build a family, even when it’s falling apart. She carries the cultural connection to the legend of El Cucu.
Ethnicity: Latina / Hispanic preferred

ABUELO (Supporting) — Male, 50s–70s
Iris’s father. A grounded storyteller with quiet intensity. He warns the family about El Cucu through a chilling folktale that feels too real.
Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic preferred
Spanish speaking a plus (not required depending on final script)
